Comment

Campground by the Lake is a seasonal campground that is open between April and October with 80 RV and tent camp spots.  Group sites and tent cabins are also available.  The campground is located just a short walk from Lake Tahoe however, it is across highway 50 from the lake.  The sleeping cabins do not have a kitchen or restroom.  There is a bus stop near the entrance to the park that makes traveling around town quite easy.  The campground is nestled in a tall pine forest with mostly shaded spots.  There is a nearby county library that has WiFi services.  The campground is closed during the winter months.  Some spots have electric and water however, RV sewer is not available.  There are two dump statins.  A laundry room is not available.  The WiFi at the campground was not very fast however, the local library next to the campground has a faster connection.  Cellular service is excellent from the campground.

Local Recreation:

The town of South Lake Tahoe has several paved bike trails to explore.  Road biking around Lake Tahoe is also popular.

There is hiking everywhere with the Pacific Crest Trail or the Tahoe Rim Trail to mention a few.

Boating and water sports are wonderful on Lake Tahoe.  The water is warm enough for just a few summer months.

Just two miles east of the campground on Lake Tahoe Bulivard is the Nevada state line where you will find several casinos.
