Maine, Lake St. George State Park

Directions:

From the town of Belfast, Maine, take Highway-3 to the west.  After 16 miles, look for the campground sign and the entrance on the left.

Lake St. George State Park is open all year with RV and tent camp spots.  Some of the parks camp sites are located right on Lake St. George with water access.  Most camp spots have shade.  Big rigs to approximately 35 feet can be accomplished but, some camp spots are much larger.  Pets are not allowed on the beach.  Most camp spots are reservable through the state parks website.  There is a small amount of poison ivy at the campground.

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticks, bees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosures, repellants, bug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items. 

Local Recreation:

The primary activities from this campground are water related.  Swimming, kayaking, and fishing are all available.  The park has several beach areas that are sandy and level for kayak launching or just swimming.
