Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort is open from May through October with approximately 45 RV and tent camp spots.  Big rigs to approximately 50 feet can be accommodated.  The campground is located on the ocean with many spots having a ocean/beach view.  Campground roads and pads are all crushed rock.  Some spots have a beach view while other spots have large shade trees.  Camp spots are well sized.  There aren't many services near the campground.  Most services are located in Belfast approximately two miles from the campground.  Belfast has fuel, markets, restaurants, and banks available.  Cellular service was good near the campground.  The campground is in a good central location for seeing many of Maine's sites.

Coastal road touring on Highway-1 through Maine's numerous down east villages is a popular activity.

Fort Knox is located approximately 20 miles north of the campground on Highway-1.  At Fort Knox is also the Penobscot Narrows Bridge that has an observation tower.  An elevator takes you to the top.

Beachcombing and fishing on the beach in front of the campground is a popular activity.  The beach has sand and is a great spot for the family.
