Description

Maine, Searsport Shores Ocean Campground is located just north of the small town of Belfast, Maine.  The campground has easy big rig access from Highway-1. 

Directions:

From downtown Searsport, go South on Highway-1 for approximately one mile.  The campground entrance will be on the left side of the highway.

Searsport Shores Ocean Campground has 125 RV and tent camp spots.  Camp cabins are also available.  The campground has a camp store with essential items available. Full hookup and pull through camp spots are available.  Restrooms, showers, and a laundry room are centrally located in the park.  Many camp spots have an ocean view and beach access.  The campground has kayak rentals and a kayak launch facility.  Firewood is available in the park.  Camp spots are well sized and most spots have grass and large shade trees.  The park is in a good location with easy access to the small town of Searsport.  Searsport has restaurants, markets, and fuel available.

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items. 

Local Recreation:

By far the most popular activity from this campground is ocean kayaking.  The campground has kayak rentals and a kayak launch beach.  It's also great for those that bring their own wn kayaks.  

Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge are located just 15 miles north of the campground on Highway-1.  The bridge has a tall observation tower for visitors.  Entrance fees are generally under $10.  There's also a gift shop there.

Acadia National Park is located approximately 30 miles north on Highway-1.  In addition to beaches, forests, and mountains, Acadia has the carriage trails.  This is an estensive hiking and biking path through Acadia.  Biking the trails is a must-do for any visit to Acadia.  Mountain bikes are best for this ride.
