Maine, Lily Bay State Park

Directions:

From the town of Greenville located on the Southern end of Moosehead Lake, go north on Lily Bay Road.  After approximately 9 miles, go left onto State Park Road.  There is a Lily Bay State Park sign there.  Follow State Park Road into the entrance gate.

Lily Bay State Park is a seasional campground being open from May through October with RV and tent camp spots available.    The park is open all year.  The park has two camping areas with 90 camp spots available.  Rowell Cove and Dunn Point are both located inside Lily Bay State Park.  Many camp spots are located along Moosehead Lake.  The best camping dates are between May and October due to cold winters.  Restrooms with showers are available.  The park has two launch ramps and boat docks.  Most camp spots have large shade trees.  Each spot has a picnic table and fire ring with drinking water available nearby.  

The nearest services are in the small town of Greenville that is located 9 miles to the South of the campground.  Greenville has fuel, markets, and restaurants. 

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items. 

Local Recreation:

Kayaking and water activities are popular from this location.  Many camp spots have direct water access.

The SS Katahdin Steamboat ferries passengers around Moosehead Lake during the summer months.
