California, Mammoth Mountain RV Park

Located approximately one mile west of highway 395 on Main Street in the city of Mammoth Lakes.  The Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center and Ranger Station on Highway CA-203 (Main St).

The campground is within walking distance from downtown Mammoth.  Easy access to shops and restaurants.

This campground is located in the town of Mammoth Lakes.  Mammoth Lakes is 38 miles outside the east entrance to Yosemite National Park.  From Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite Valley is 100 miles or 2.5 hours away.  The east entrance to Yosemite is closed in the winter.

The Mammoth Ski Resort is 1.5 miles from the campground.

There is easy RV access to the park from the main highway.

The are approximately 160 camp sites at this location.  Tenting, RV sites and cabins are available at this campground.

The campground is open year around.  The area receives several feet of snow during the winter months.  Snow skiing at Mammoth Mountain is a popular activity during the winter.  During the summer months mountain bikers ride down the ski runs.

The Mammoth area is especially appealing to photographers because of the bueatiful mountain ranges, forests, and lakes.

Crowley lake is a short drive and has great fishing.  Another lake, Convict Lake is just a short 9 miles from the campground down highway 395.  Lake Mary and many other small lakes are just a short few miles up Main Street on Lake Mary Road.  In short, there are lakes and streams everywhere.
 
The bus service in Mammoth is free and runs around the entire city of Mammoth Lakes.  Stops include the ski slopes and lodges.
 
The village gondola runs between "The Village at Mammoth" and Canyon Ski Lodge.  It's a free ride to the public during the winter months.
 
The bike path runs past the front of the campground.  See the photos tab for a picture of the path.
 
There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the campground.  See the photo buttons on the right side of this page.
 
Black Velvet Coffee at 3333 Main St. in Mammoth Lakes, is a coffee shop that is a cut above the rest.  They also have free WiFi and they are located just a short walk up Main St.
 
If you plan on visiting Yosemite National Park, try the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS).  It's a great way to see the park but, it operates primarily during the summer months.  www.yarts.com or call (877) 989-2787
 
There were so many things to do in Mammoth, it was impossible to fit them all in during just one visit.
