Directions from the Bangor area:

Take Route 1 to Ellsworth.  At the second traffic light, take a right onto Route 1A, which will become Route 3 East
Stay in the right lane on Route 3 and continue for about ten miles.  Pass Trenton Airport on your left.  Watch immediately for Narrows Too Camping Resort on your left.
 

Comment

Narrows Too Camping Resort has cabins, tenting, and RV sites.  The campground has approximately 192 seasonal camp spots open from May through October.  Many camp spots are on the ocean or have an ocean view.  The campground is conveniently located on Maine Route 3 near Ellsworth.  The National Park Bus, Island Explorer, services the campground and most campgrounds in the area.  It's a free service with the purchase of a weekly park pass.  Bar Harbor is just a short six mile drive from the campground.  Mount Desert Island is less than a mile from the campground where you will find Acadia National Park.
 
Camp roads and parking pads are all crushed rock.  There are limited shade spots.
 
Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items. 
 
Local Recreation:
 
The Down East Sunrise Trail ends in Ellsworth near the campground.  It's a multi-use trail for hiking, biking, and off-roading.  Get your mountain bike and ride.  It's 95 miles through an amazing wilderness. 
 
The campground is in a good location for large RV's visiting Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.  RVers can avoid driving large vehicles on Mount Desert Islands winding roads by staying at this campground and riding the free bus.
