North Grove Campground in Calaveras Big Trees State Park.  The campgrounds are seasonal.  North Grove Campground is located near the Visitors Center and entrance.  Oak Hollow Campground is located approximately three miles from the information center on Walter Smith Memorial Highway.  RV's up to 30 feet can be accommodated in most camp spots at North Grove Campground.  A limited number of pull through camp spots are available.  Oak Hollow Campground is better suited for tenting.  Most sites there are identified as tent sites however, there are also RV/van camp spots at Oak Hollow.  Campbase recommends nothing larger than 23 feet however, some sites are larger.  The road to Oak Hollow Campground is winding and narrow, not well suited for large RV's.  Both campgrounds have large shade trees.  All camoground roads are paved.  Most vehicle parking pads are paved, but not all.  There is NO cell service in either campground.  Starlink does not work here because of the large trees.

The campgrounds are located in a natural Sequoia forest setting.  The trees are giants with some reaching 320 feet tall and 33 feet around.  There is a total of 129 mixed RV and tent campsites.  There is a visitors center in the park.  The park features the North Grove of Giant Sequoias and the "Big Stump".  The Big Stump has been a tourist attraction for over 150 years.  The big stump was once used as a dance floor.
