Comment

Tahoe State Recreation Area Campground has 27 small RV and tent camp spots.  RV's up to 24 feet can be accommodated.  Although the web site says Trailer: 15 Feet and Camper/Motorhome: 21 Feet.  The camp spaces are small so, big rigs can not be accommodated.  But, it's perfect for the smaller RV's.  The campground is open May 26th through September 4th most years.  The campground seems to have everything.  It's located in a beautiful forest on the shores of Lake Tahoe with water access.  Next to the campground is a market, restaurants, and coffee shops.  Downtown Tahoe City is just a few miles away.  The campground has a beach however, it is very rocky.  There is also a small pier available to campers.  The Lake Taho Gal tour boat berths near the campground.  Lake tours are available.  This campground is perfect for small rigs and tenting.  Reservations are available on-line at the web site provided here.  This is a very popular spot so, Campbase recommends you reserve early.

Local Recreation:

Road biking is popular in this area.  A complete loop of the lake is 72 miles.  Many areas around the lake have paved bike paths that are seperate from the highway.
