California, William Kent Campground is conveniently located near Lake Tahoe, just a few miles south of Tahoe City.

Direction:

William Kent Campground is 2 miles south of Tahoe City on California Highway 89.  Southbound on Highway 89, the campground will be on the right side.

William Kent Campground has 84 RV and tent camp sites available.  Yurts are also available.  The campground has potable water and toilets but, No showers or laundry room.  This is a seasonal campground being open from May through October.  Elevation at the campground is 6,100 feet.  There are pet restrictions.  Only 2 pets per site with no pets on beach.  Call the Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Land Management Unit at (530) 543-2600 for additional information.  Reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov.  Camp site length varies with some sites being as long as 50 feet.  However, most camp spots are around 35 feet long.  Most camp spots also have shade trees.  The campground is located across highway 89 from Lake Tahoe.  There is a marina at the campground.  

Local Recreation:

Lake Tahoe is just across the highway-89 from the campground.  The campground has a beach, restaurant, and marina.

Emerald Bay on Lake Tahoe is located approximately 15 miles south of the campground.  It's a great spot to spend the day.  

The Truckee River is located just a few miles north of the campground. There are several River rafting companies located there.
