The Temecula/Vail Lake KOA is a campground that has just about everything.  Located in a wilderness area at Vail Lake, there are no services in the immediate area.  Large oak trees provide shade for just about every camp spot.  The campground has numerous services including a entertainment stage, mini golf, ice cream parlor, arcade, bar and grill.  There are usually evening activities at the entertainment stage.  Large mouth bass can be also caught in Vail Lake.  The campground has 500 full hookup camp spots for RV's and tenting.  The campground is open all year.  The park has free WiFi but, no cable TV.  Air TV is also not available in this remote area.  Cell phone service in the area is poor at best.  Cell service is better in the Chardonnay Mesa Campground and in Rincon campground located inside this KOA.   Other campgrounds in the park are between canyons with poor cell service.

One of the best casinos in Temecula is Pachanga Casino.  It's located just six miles from the camp ground.

Mountain biking is very popular in this park.  There is an extensive network of trails for mountain bikes.

Mount Palomar Observatory is located above the campground in the mountains to the South.  Night time stare viewing is usually excellent from the campground.  If you are visiting the area, make sure you see the observatory, it's open to the public.

The closest amenities outside the park are in Temecula, six miles away.  There is fuel, markets and banks.

Rattle snakes are in the area, use caution.
