Apple Tree Campground located 6,200-foot is open all year.  There may be deep snow in the campground at times.  There are 8 tent sites right on Big Pines highway.  Popular snow play area nearby at Mountain High ski area.  Fishing in nearby Jackson Lake.  Drinking water, vault toilets and picnic tables are available.   Adventure Pass required for vehicles parked at this campground. Individual campsites are first come - first served.  Most camp spots have tall pine shade trees.  This is basicly a walk-in tenting campground.  The car must be parked on the highway and camp sites walked-in to.  RV's not allowed.  The road to the campground is not well suited for large RV's.  The campground is along the highway and there is some highway noise.  Most cell phones do not have service at this location.

Heavy snow play area during the winter months.

The town of Rightwood is just five miles away where you will find fuel, shops, and restaurants.

Note:  Campbase visited the campground during the winter hence, the snow in the pictures.
Note2:  Campbase found drinking water at the campground even though the campgrounds web page said there was none.
