California, Mt. Oak Campground, Angeles National Forest.

Directions:

From I­nterstate-15 at the Cajon Pass, take Highway 138 west. Turn left on Angeles Crest Highway and drive 9 miles to the Big Pines Information Station.  The station is 3 miles west of the small town of Rightwood.  Just past the ranger station bear right onto Big Pines Highway (County Road N4).  The campground will be four miles further on the right side of the highway.  It's just after Jackson Lake.  

Note:  your GPS system may not take you to the campground.  However, the Campbase map provided here is accurate for the location of the campground.  

Comment

Mountain Oak Campground, Angeles National Forest.  The campground is seasonal being open in April and closing in November. There are 17 tents or RV camp spots available.  RV's up to 18 feet can be accommodated.  Drinking water (shut off when temperatures reach freezing), fire pits, picnic tables, and flush toilets are available.  Campground roads are all paved.  The campground is located at 6,200 feet.  Reservations are available through www.recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777.  
No big rigs allowed in this campground.  Cellular service is not available at the campground.  The nearest market and fuel is in Wrightwood, it's located approximately 8 miles to the east.

Jackson Lake is just across the highway from the campground.  It's a small lake, no boating.
