Description

California, Lake Campground, Angeles National Forest, is located at Jackson Lake.

Directions:

From I­nterstate-15 at the Cajon Pass, take Highway 138 west. Turn left on Angeles Crest Highway and drive 9 miles to the Big Pines Information Station.  The station is 3 miles west of the small town of Rightwood.  Just past the ranger station bear right onto Big Pines Highway (County Road N4).  The campground will be three miles further on the left side of the highway.  It's just before Jackson Lake.

Lake Campground, Angeles National Forest, has RV and tent camp spots.  The campground is seasonal closing in November and reopening in April.  There are just 8 sites for tents or motor homes up to 18 feet.  Piped water (shut off when temperatures reach freezing), fire pits, picnic tables, and vault toilets.  The campground is located at 6,100 feet.  Reservations are available through www.recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777.  Most cell phones do not have service from this campground.  There are no services available near the campground.  The small town of Wrightwood is located seven miles to the east.  RV's up to 18 feet can be accommodated, no big rigs.  The highway runs past the campground and there is some road noise.  

Note:  Campbase visited this campground in the winter hence, the snow on the ground. 

Local Recreation:

Hiking is popular from this location.

Jackson Lake and fishing are just a short walk from the campground.
