Comment

Bluebill Campground is open from 5/1 through 9/30 with just 22 RV or tent camp spots. Big rigs up to 85 feet however, most spots are less than 45 feet.  The campground may be closed from time to time with water covering the paved access roads.  Please see our photos tab for a water on the road picture.  It's best to call ahead and check campground availability.  Please note, this campground is better suited to fishing and hiking than off-roading.  It does not have direct sand dune access for OHV's.

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hatinsect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location.

Local Recreation:

Off-roading in the Oregon Sand Dunes is by far the most popular activity from this location.  The dunes are spectacular with lakes and pine forests mixed in woodlands.  The dunes extend for 40 miles in this location.

Horsebacking is popular from Horsfall Sand Dunes.  The area to the south of the parks entrance road(Horsfall Road) is restricted to Horsebacking only, no off-roading.

The national recreation area has a long sand beach with beach access.  Horsfall Beach Campground is in the best location for accessing the beach.  Great spot for beachcombers.
