Oregon, Horsfall Entrance Oregon Dunes NRA.  This is a general campground information page for campgrounds access through the Horsfall Entrance to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.

Directions:

From downtown North Bend on Highway-101, go north for approximately one mile.  After crossing over McCullough Bridge take a left onto Trans Pacific Lane.  Travel approximately one mile on Trans Pacific Ln and take a right onto Horsfall Road.  Horsfall Road leads into the park.

Horsfall Entrance Oregon Dunes NRA  There are five camping areas accessible from the Horsfall Entrance to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.  The campgrounds with links are:

Horsfall Campgrond is primarily for off-roading with direct access into the dunes. 

Bluebill Campground is located in a natural pine forest with individual camp spots.  Less used for off-roading, has dune access.

Wild Mare Horse Camp is for campers with horses only.  

Horsfall Beach Campground is located right at the beach with dune access.  

Oregon Sand Dunes Sand Camping is available in certain areas.

These campgrounds are predominantly used by off roaders and for horsebacking.  South of the access road is for horsebacking only.  There is also direct Dunes and beach access at Horsfall Beach Campground.  The dunes in this area extend for 40 miles. 

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hatinsect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location. 

Local Recreation:

Off-roading in the Oregon Sand Dunes is by far the most popular activity from this location.  The dunes are spectacular with lakes and pine forests mixed in woodlands.  The dunes extend for 40 miles in this location.

Horsebacking is popular from Horsfall Sand Dunes.  The area to the south of the parks entrance road(Horsfall Road) is restricted to Horsebacking only, no off-roading.

The national recreation area has a long sand beach with beach access.  Horsfall Beach Campground is in the best location for accessing the beach.  Great spot for beachcombers.
