Description

New Mexico, Desert Cove Campground, Elephant Butte Lake State Park is located 4 miles off Interstate-25. 

Directions:

Southbound on Interstate-25, approaching the small town that of Elephant Butte, take the Highway-195 exit and go Southeast for approximately 4 miles and the parks entrance will be on the left side.

Note: In addition to the route detailed above, there are several additional access roads into the park.

Desert Cove Campground is open all year with just 18 RV and tent camp spots available.  Camp spots are large and can accommodate RV's up to approximately 45 feet(estimated).  Each camp spot has a shade awning, picnic table, and fire ring.  Camp roads are paved.  Four camp spots in the middle of the campground appear to be for larger groups.  Pets are allowed.  There is a restroom with showers located nearby.  Electric and water connections only, sewer connections are not available.  There is a dump station in the campground but, it appears to be seasional and closed in the winter.  Lake access and the marina can be found just a short distance away.  Cellular services is available for most carriers from this location.
