Description

New Mexico, Elephant Butte Lake State Park is located 4 miles off Interstate-25. 

Directions:

Southbound on Interstate-25, approaching the small town that of Elephant Butte, take the Highway-195 exit and go Southeast for approximately 4 miles and the parks entrance will be on the left side.

Note: In addition to the route detailed above, there are several additional access roads into the park.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park is open all year with five different camping areas inside the park.  Lake levels are low so none of the campgrounds are right onto on the water.  The campgrounds are Lions Beach, Quail Run, Desert Cove, South Monticello Point, and Lower Ridge Road Campground. The parks elevation is 4,500 feet.  A launch ramp and marina are located in the park. Cellular service is good for most carriers in this area.  The small town of Elephant Butte is located just outside the parks entrance where you will find fuel, markets, shops, and restaurants.
