Leapin Lizard RV Ranch has 60 full hookups RV camp spots.  There are also two rental trailers available.  The campground is close to the Ocotillo State Vehicular Recreation Area.  It's also in the area of the Anza Borrego Desert State Park.  This is a desert area.  The Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area is located on the north side of Hwy. 78. Using dirt trails, it is an easy 5 minute ride from the Leapin Lizard RV Ranch.  The campground has numerous shade trees that also block secret winds.  The campground has the most usage during the winter months.  Summer tempratures drive most RVers out of the desert area.

Telephones, groceries, a motel, and restaurants are available in the small town of Ocotillo Wells and along Highway 78.  However, these services are very limited and not always open.  The grocery stores are campground stores.  A large grocery store is not available.

Some camp spots have picnic tables but, not all.  Fire rings are not available. However, campers may bring and use metal fire rings.  Pull through camp spots are not available.  Camp spots are large enough for big rigs up to 45 feet.

The campground has a rule that all dirt bikes must be pushed inside the campground.  Other off road equipment must be idled through the campground.

A cell phone hot spot is available at the front office.

The campground has a pool and jacuzzi that are being built and nearing completion.  They should be available by the summer of 2016.

Local Recreation:

Ocotillo Wells State Recreational Vehicle Area is just a few blocks from the campground.  The recreation area is popular for off-roading.

Anza Borrego State Park is just 20 miles from the campground.  There are extensive hiking trails and wildlife viewing in the park.  In the spring there are wild flowers.

The Galeta Meadows area has an extensive collection of sculptures located along the highway.  Please see our photos tab for a few pictures.  The sculptures are located in the Borrego Springs area 20 miles to the Norttwest.
