Description

California, Lower Intake 2 Campground.  Located in the Inyo National Forest.  Although the campground address is "Bishop", the campground is located 12 miles outside town.  

Direction:

From Bishop go west on State Route 168 (Line Street) approximately 16 miles. The Intake Two Campground will be on your left.

Lower Intake 2 Campground is a small campground with just 8 RV or tent camp spots.  It's adjacent to the walk-in portion of the campground just past the junction of the road to Lake Sabrina and South Lake.  Reservations are not available.  All sites are first-come, first-served.  Bear boxes are provided.  This is an active bear area.  This campground is seasional and was closed during the Campbase visit.  It opens in July and closes in August.  The campground is in a good spot along the Middle Fork Bishop Creek.  Its also located at the Intake Lake.  Please see our pictures tab for a few pictures.  This is a remote area being 16 miles from Bishop.  Known for the fishing, Intake 2 is a small lake campground along the road to Lake Sabrina Lake.  There are just 5 walk-in sites on the west shore of the lake and 11 sites suitable for small vehicles near the creek above Intake 2.  Small RV's are recommended.
