Description

California, Mountain and River Adventures Campground is located 2.5 miles north of Kernville on Sierra Way.

Directions:

From downtown Kernville, take Highway 99(Sierra Way) North.  Travel 2.5 miles north and the campground will be on the left side of the highway.  

Comment

Mountain and River Adventures Campground has 34 RV and tent camp spots available.  RV pull through spots are not available.  The campground is located in a popular rafting area along the Kern River.  The campground does have access to the water.  This is dry camping, hookups are not available.  Small RV's can be accommodated however, it's primarily a tenters campground.  RV's up to 25 feet should be ok.  Firewood and Ice are available at the campground.  There is also has an adventure center where you can arrange rafting and float trips.   Several group areas are also available.   The restroom and showers were very nice and clean.  

Local Recreation:
 
Road touring and sightseeing are popular in Kernville and the Sequoia National Forest on the Sierra Highway.
 
Boating and fishing on Lake Isabella.  Lake levels are low due to the California drought but, fishing is still great.  With all the trees in the water, water skiing is not recommended.  
 
The Kern River is located next to the campground.  Rafting, tubing, and fly fishing are popular on the Kern River.  There are several adventure outfitters nearby in Kernville.  Fly fishing guides are also available.  Kernville also has several restaurants and souvenir shops.
