Description

Arizona, Pine Flat Campground West Coconino Natinal Forest.  The campground is approximately 12 miles north of Uptown Sedona.

Direction:

From Phoenix, take I-17 north to Highway 179 toward Sedona. Turn north on Highway 89A and continue for 12 miles into Oak Creek Canyon.  The campground entrance is on both sides of the highway.  There are two entrances.

Comment

Pine Flat Campground West Coconino NF is a seasonal campground open from mid-March through mid-October.  There are 58 tent and RV camp spots.  The campground is located in a pine forest along Oak Creek in Oak Creek Canyon.  Campbase does not recommend taking larger RV's into Oak Creek Canyon due to narrow and twisting highways.  There are no services in the area of the campground.  Cellular service is usually poor.  WiFi is not available.  Firewood is available from the camp host.  No RV hookups available.

Area Recreation:

Slide Rock State Park is just south of the campground and is a good place for a hike.

Sedona is 12 miles to the south and has shops, resturants, markets, and fuel.  The Sedona area has hiking and mountain biking.
