Description

Arizona, Rancho Sedona RV Park.  For large RV's, the best way to enter Sedona is from the south at the intersection of Interstate-17 and Highway 179.  Other highways are winding and may not be well suited for larger RV's.

Directions:

From the intersection of Interstate-17 and Highway 179(The Red Rock Scenic Byway) head north on Highway 179.  Travel 14 miles north into the town of Sedona.  At the round-a-bout turn right on Schnebly Hills Road.  The campground will be on the left side in approximately two blocks.  The campground sign is small.  It's near the first bend in the highway.

The campground is located in the Uptown Sedona section.

Comment

Rancho Sedona RV Park is open all year with 84 RV sites.  There is NO tenting at this campground.  The campground is in a naturally wooded sycamore and cypress grove along Oak Creek.  There is fishing on the Oak Creek stream.  Most spaces have shade.  The campground is right in downtown Sedona.  Many shops and Resturants are in walking distance. This is the largest RV campground in Sedona.  Most camp spots have shade trees and a patio pad.  Camp roads and parking pads are crushed rock.  If you are driving an RV, this is where you will want to stay.

No fire rings, No camp fires, No dump station, no camp store, pet restrictions.

Please note that Campbase visited this campground during the winter months when the leaves had already fallen off of normally lush trees.

Note: expandable sewer hose support is required by the city and campground.

Area Recreation:

There are several things to do in the area of the campground.  The primary recreation activity is swimming, hiking, and mountain biking.  There are also approximately 10 miles of road bike lanes on highway 179 in front of the campground.  There is an unlimited number of mountain bike trails through bueatiful red rock views.  Many of the mountain bike trails are accessible from the campground.

Uptown Sedona is just 4 blocks north where there are shops, restaurants, markets, and fuel.  Uptown Sedona is a popular area for restaurants and walking.

Oak Creek Canyon is just 1 mile north on Highway 179.  Road bicycling in this narrow canyon is not recommended.  However, the area is popular with motorcycle groups due to the canyon roads and road side cafés.

There are numerous opportunities for photography at Slide Rock and in Sedona.

There is also Sedona ATV and Buggy Rental, please see the ad to the right side of this page.
