Description

Washingtoon, Colonial Creek North Campground, is located in the Cascades National Park System.

Directions:

Located off of SR 20 at mile post 130. Twenty miles (40 km) east of Marblemount, 63 miles (101 km) west of Winthrop.

Colonial Creek North Campground is a remote, yet bustling campground nestled in old growth forest. Located on the north side of State Route 20 near mile marker 130, there are 41 campsites that are surrounded by forest and located on Diablo Lake.   Recreational opportunities include a fully accessible fishing pier and boat launch on Diablo Lake, as well as hiking opportunities for various abilities on Thunder Creek and Thunder Knob trails.  RV's use the North side campground.  Campground opens for the season on the Monday before Memorial Day.  All sites can be reserved through www.recreation.gov.  Campgrounds that are open before and after the reservation season are first-come, first-served. 

Note: On the South side of the highway is Coloonial Creek South Campground.  The sites on the South side are walk-in, tent sites only, No RV's.

Chech the NPS.GOV website for road closures before leaving for the park.  Snow and land slides can close essential access roads.  

There is No cell service from the campground.

This is a remote area.  The closest services were approximately 10 miles to the West on State Route-20.  The Skagit General Store has most of the basics.
