Description

Washington, Colonial Creek South Campground, is part of the Cascades National Park System. 

Directions:

Located on the South side of State Route 20, near mile marker 130 and Diablo Lake.

Comment

Colonial Creek South Campground is a remote, yet busy campground nestled in old growth forest on the south side of State Route 20 near mile marker 130.  Ten walk-in, tent-only sites are available first-come, first-served in the winter (sites 64-73). Sites may be difficult to access in winter. Reservations required late May to September. Recreational opportunities include a fully accessible fishing pier and boat launch on Diablo Lake, as well as hiking opportunities on Thunder Creek and Thunder Knob.  19 total tent spots availabble during summer seasion only.

RV's generally use the North Colonial Creek Campground.

Please check the NPS.GOV website before departing for this location.  Roads are often closed due to rock falls or snow.

There is No cell service from the campground.

This is a remote area.  The closest services were approximately 10 miles to the West on State Route-20.  The Skagit General Store has most of the basics.
