Washington, Goodell Creek Campground

Directions:

From Rockport, go Eastbound on State Route-20.  After approximately 20 miles look for the park sign just before the visitors center on the right side.

Goodell Creek Campground is situated in lush, old growth forest on the banks of the Skagit River. Trees in this campground were massive.  Campsites are suitable for tents and small RVs. First-come, first-served during the winter.  Summer reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance or 7 days in advance. Nearby recreational opportunities include a raft/kayak launch on the Skagit River and fishing on the Skagit and its tributaries.  This campground is open year around.  Camping here during the off season is free, first-come, first-served.  Simply choose an empty camp spot and log your name at the front kiosk.  Cell service was good in this campground.  Cell service was "poor to none" in the Eastern part of the park.  Goodell Creek Campground is a small campground mostly suited to tenting and small RV's.  Campbase recommends nothing larger than 25 feet.  This is just a Campbase recommendation based on roads, overhangs, and site sizes, you may be able to fit larger.  Campbase enjoyed this location.  Its a quiet campground along the river. Great campbase/basecamp spot for touring the entire park.  Just a mile East is the Skagit General store where you will find all the essentials.  The Information Center is also located there. The Visitors Center is also nearby.  

There are two dump stations in the national park.  One at Newhalem Creek Campground and the second at Colonial Creek Campground.  Dump stations are only open in the summer months.  No dump fee.

All reservations are made through www.recreation.gov durring the summer season.  Off season, the campground is first-come, first-served.
